Primary Brain Tumors
Primary brain tumors begin in the brain itself, rather than spreading from cancer elsewhere in the body. They can range from slow-growing and less aggressive forms to fast-growing types like glioblastoma. Because the brain controls so many vital functions, even small tumors can affect movement, speech, or memory. Our goal is to better understand how these tumors develop and to create new, more effective treatments that help patients live longer and with a better quality of life.

Metastatic Brain Tumors
Metastatic brain tumors occur when cancer from another part of the body—such as the lung, breast, or skin—spreads to the brain. These tumors are far more common than primary brain tumors and can appear as single or multiple spots within the brain. Advances in surgery, radiation, and targeted therapies have improved outcomes, but treatment remains complex because these tumors often reflect aggressive disease elsewhere in the body. Our research focuses on developing innovative approaches to better detect, target, and treat metastatic brain tumors, with the goal of improving survival and preserving neurological function.
